Enjoy reliable car hire in Florida with Hertz. We offer convenient pick-up, a wide selection of vehicles, and hassle-free journeys.
Florida stretches far longer than most people expect, and no single city captures what the state has to offer. Miami's Art Deco skyline gives way to the Everglades' sawgrass marshes within an hour's drive, while the Gulf Coast's quiet beaches sit a world away from Orlando's theme parks. Covering that kind of ground comfortably means having a car of your own.
Getting a Hertz car rental in Florida fits right in. Pick up your car in Miami, Orlando, Tampa, or straight from the airport, and the whole state opens up from there. Drive south to the Florida Keys for open-water bridges and island time, head into the Everglades for airboat rides and wildlife, or stick to the coast for beach towns that rarely make it onto a first-time itinerary.
By renting a Hertz car hire in Florida, you're not tied to a shuttle schedule or a resort's activity desk. Whether you rent a car in Florida for a weekend in Miami or a longer road trip up the coast, you choose the route, the stops, and the pace.

Florida's long coastlines and flat, well-connected highways make it a practical state for going electric. Hertz offers EV models for rent if you'd rather skip the gas station altogether, whether you're sticking to Miami and Fort Lauderdale or driving up to Orlando, Tampa, or the Space Coast.
New fast-charging sites continue to come online across the state, with thousands of additional charging ports added along major highways in recent years, making it easier to plan longer trips across Florida with an EV.
Charging isn't hard to find once you're on the road. The state has more than 14000 public charging stations. Hence, when you rent an EV car with Hertz, you're free to top up even well outside the city.
Florida doesn't have a congestion charge. What it does have is an extensive network of toll roads and expressways, run through Florida's Turnpike system and several regional toll authorities, and most local roads and interstates remain toll-free.

Bring a valid physical driving licence and an accepted payment card in the main driver's name. Hertz may also request a passport or other identification. If your licence is not in English, carry an International Driving Permit alongside it.
Drivers generally need to be at least 20 years old. A young renter fee and restrictions on certain premium or specialist vehicles may apply to drivers aged 20 to 24.
Hertz accepts major credit cards and certain debit cards. Debit-card rentals may involve extra checks and cannot be used for prepaid rates or some premium vehicles, so a credit card is generally the simplest option.
Most Hertz vehicles are supplied with a full tank, although fuel is not included in the rental rate. You can return the car at the original fuel level, prepay for fuel, or allow Hertz to refuel it for an additional charge.
Pay Later bookings can generally be cancelled free of charge before collection. Prepaid bookings are free to cancel within 24 hours of booking, while later cancellations may carry a fee depending on how close they are to pickup.
